The University of Calabria (UniCal), is an Italian state university founded in 1972, is the largest of the Calabrian universities.
The university is located on the hills of Arcavacata, a hamlet in the municipality of Rende, in the urban area of ​​Cosenza.

Among its founders were Beniamino Andreatta, Giorgio Galgiani, Pietro Bucci and Paolo Labini.

In 2022, 4,271 students enrolled and according to the Censis ranking, it is among the best Italian universities among "large universities".
